It is not the best engine Audi have released, but its not the newest either and of course we are able to fine tune the engine in a way that Audi simply are unable to. Does that mean we are saying that we are more intelligent than Audi!??

We never said that… However Audi have to factor in where the car will be sold and to whom. In order to maintain solid reliability the top manufacturers always slightly detune their engines to cope with the fact that the owners generally will not look after them so much once they are out of warranty. People use the wrong weight and quality oil, poor fuel, forget to change the air filter and so on..We also do not have to worry about certain rules and regulations of the governments in the countries where they sell that engine. In a sense – it’s not the manufacturer at fault!

We can fine tune this little A2 for maximum efficiency, make it run as well as it absolutely can – the improvements in performance are the end result of loosing all the “de-tuning” as is the extra fuel economy.

Its never going to be a racing car, but it drives well and this liitle car really benefits from a larger, smoother power band. On the road it simply feels like “the next engine up”.
