Where fitted as standard, the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is now a specific MOT Test Item and should the testing station be able to detect that it has been removed from the vehicle they will fail the car.
Unfortunately the main dealers still have a monopoly in the supply of good Original Equipment (OE) filters as there are currently no ‘After Market’ filters of the same quality in the market.
In fact we commonly see after market filters which have literally burnt out 2/4 weeks after being fitted at huge costs.
