BMC Direct Intake Airsytem

Thanks to the lengthy experience gained by BMC in dynamic supercharging airboxes, they have developed the Direct Intake Airsystem (DIA), the Junior filter system by BMC.

The operation philosophy of BMC top range product, the Carbon Dynamic Airbox (CDA), is utilised in the DIA using less exotic material and therefore being more economical (cheaper in other words!). This has enabled the production of a system that still gives more performance than a normal shielded cone filter but is available at a very interesting price.

The DIA consists of a plastic airbox containing an air flow deflector and a reusable filter element. Also supplied in the universal kit there is a flexible tube to carry cool air to the Airbox inlet, a connecting tube for easier installation and two reducers that allow the in most common applications.

With its particular structure the DIA ensures that the air taken in is carried to the engine with speed and a superior capacity as compared with standard systems. The result is not only an excellent increase in performance on its own, Angel Tuning can custom create their engine mapping to utilise the greater airflow and improve the mapping to match – therefore increase the power further when ordered as a combination package.




The BMC filtering system is not intended as a simple conical filter covered in a plastic protector. This is an intake system that is specially designed to take advantage of the velocity of the air intake as dynamic overpressure. The DIA thanks to its particular structure composed of an internal reducer and flow deflector works like a true dynamic supercharging system increasing the air intake speed and consequently the pressure inside the airbox.

The DIA is recommended for engines up to 1600cc.
